From the press release from his publisher, \u201cThe Blue Knight exposes problems in\u00a0our society related to racism and\u00a0bullying, an important topic which is\u00a0currently at the forefront of many\u00a0lives and discussed at great lengths\u00a0around the world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The main character,\u00a0a teenager named Owen, lives in\u00a0a small village with his mother. He is\u00a0chastised by everyone he encounters\u00a0until the day he meets an unusual\u00a0friend who lives in the mountains\u00a0nearby. Both outcasts must gain each\u00a0other\u2019s trust and learn self-worth,\u00a0mutual respect, and tolerance, while\u00a0building Owen\u2019s character into a respected\u00a0hero amongst his people.\u00a0Through their adventures, both\u00a0friends learn to overcome the harshness\u00a0of racism and hate, while challenging\u00a0others to do the same. This\u00a0book will help young readers find\u00a0strategies and guidelines in their life\u00a0that will help them deal with these\u00a0important issues positively.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1071\" src=\"https:\/\/wawa-news.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-15-at-9.32.14-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"263\" height=\"296\" \/>Raymond (Ray as most everyone in Wawa knows him as) is originally from Sudbury, has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English Literature\u00a0(Laurentian University), and his teacher\u2019s degree from\u00a0Nipissing University (North Bay). He is an English teacher at Michipicoten High School, and enjoys fishing,\u00a0hunting, playing music, painting, and\u00a0reading in his spare time. Ray\u2019s inspiration are his two children. He hopes that they\u00a0will follow\u00a0their lifelong goals, as he is.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ray explained to Wawa-news, that his copies of The Blue Knight are set to arrive on Wednesday. He is hopeful to find an empty table at this weekend\u2019s By Hand Festival.
