Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the assistance of Technical Traffic Collison Investigators (TTCI), Forensic Identification Units (FISU) and the OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17.<\/p>\n

On Friday, February 23, 2018 at approximately 8:30 a.m, the Kenora OPP was notified of a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, east of Willard Lake.<\/p>\n

The male driver of the pick-up truck was pronounced deceased at the hospital.<\/p>\n

The driver and passenger of the Tractor Trailer Unit sustained minor injuries.\u00a0Highway 17 has one lane open at this time<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Highway 71 and Highway 502 are open as a detour.<\/p>\n

The identity of the driver will be released upon Next of Kin notification.<\/p>\n

The investigation is continuing.<\/p>\n
