Northern Credit Union donates $5,000 towards Ukraine conflict relief

In response to the devastating and ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Northern Credit Union is donating $5,000 to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation Humanitarian Appeal, a non-profit organization established to support humanitarian projects focused on Ukraine. Donations help to provide and distribute food packages, medicine, and shelter to Ukrainian refugees who are seeking safety from the developing Russian invasions.

Canada is home to over 1.3 million citizens of Ukrainian descent, many of whom still hold strong connections to their ancestral home. In support of our Ukrainian citizens and our colleagues at the Ukrainian Credit Union with branches throughout Ontario, Northern Credit Union is asking for organizations and individuals to consider donating to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation Humanitarian Appeal.

“On behalf of all Northern employees, we are deeply saddened by the events taking place in Ukraine. It is imperative that we continue to educate ourselves on the conflict, and establish ourselves as allies to not only our own Ukrainian-Canadian citizens, but to all of the Ukrainians seeking refuge from warfare in their country. We will remain diligent in providing any support we can as the situation progresses.” says Richard Adam, President & CEO of Northern Credit Union.
