New books

New on the seven-day fiction shelf this week:  “Thief’s Mark” by Carla Neggers, “Vince Flynn’s Enemy of the State” by Kyle Mills, “Shattered” by Allison Brennan, and “A Legacy of Spies” by John Le Carré.

 

Afterschool programs

We have started the afterschool programs.  On Tuesday, we have Craft Club, Wednesday is Clay Club, Thursday is Cartoon Club, and Friday is Game Day.  All clubs are 3:30-4:30 for ages 4-12 and anyone under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult.  Come on down to the Wawa Public Library and participate in our afterschool programs.

 

Drop Box

We are now operating with our new drop box in place.  You may deposit your returns only in the drop box when the library is closed.

 

Used Battery Collection & Computer Cartridge Recycling

We are a collection site for single use batteries, computer cartridges and toners.  You can drop them off at the circulation desk at the Wawa Public Library.

 

The library is closed Sundays, Mondays and all holidays. We are open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 – 8:00 pm; Friday 11:30 – 5:00 pm, and Saturday from noon until 2 pm.

Public Access Computers, Ipads & WiFi

 

WiFi is available at the library – please register at the circulation desk if you are accessing our library Wifi. We need to track the usage for statistical purposes. Thank you!   We have 2 public computers as well as 3 I-pads available for public use.  Please inquire at the circulation desk.

 

Board Meetings

The Wawa Public Library Board meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 6:30p.m. at the Library.   The next meeting will be held on Monday, November 20 at 6:30p.m.  Everyone is welcome!

Wawa Public Library

The Wawa Public Library (WPL) has a great selection of books, periodicals (magazines), DVD’s, Blu-rays, audiobooks, French books, and Children’s collection!

The Library offers photocopying, faxing, laminating, printing, and VHS to DVD conversion. Free WiFi is available at the library, with 4 public computers and 3 iPads for public use.The Wawa Public Library also recycles your batteries and ink cartridges!

WPL has a Drop Box for returns when the library is closed. Please remember the drop box is for library materials only.

Online - WPL (wawa.olsn.ca), Wawa History page ( www.wawahistory.wawa.cc). The WPL also has a Facebook Page and one for the Summer Program, posting daily to keep you updated.Be sure to check out our E-Resources page.

LIBRARY HOURS are Monday 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 11:00 am –7:00 pm, Friday 11:00 am-5:00 pm and Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.Please note that effective July 1st the Wawa Public Library will be closed on Mondays.

LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP is FREE to residents of the Municipality of Wawa and contracting communities.We can also issue a non-resident library card for a fee of $10.00 per month or $95.00 per year.
