News Tidbits – There are 254 personnel from Ontario in British Columbia. Ontario is scheduling to send another resource deployment of close to 100 personnel to British Columbia later this week. Sufficient resources will remain in Ontario to respond to forest fires here.

 

Phillip Currie, University of Alberta Professor, Canada Research Chair and Palaeontologist has had a feathered, toothy dinosaur that roamed Alberta’s Drumheller Valley – Albertavenator curriei.

 

OPP are continuing searchings in two drowning incidents in Norther Ontario. Search continues today for Arthur Lavoie was carried away by the current while swimming in the Ottawa River in Mattawa on July 15, 2017. The area where he entered the water is described as having very strong current, varying depths and not suitable for swimming.

OPP are also investigating the reported disappearance of a 47-year-old male from Schreiber, who was boating on Whitesand Lake in northwestern Ontario. He was observed swimming towards his boat and went underwater, reports are that he did not resurface.
