Weather – Cloudy with 40 % chance of showers this morning. The rain is expected to begin near noon with possible thunderstorms this afternoon and overnight. Environment Canada is warning “Rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimetres are likely, although some areas that see several thunderstorms may receive higher amounts.” Winds are expected to increase overnight, becoming northeast 30 km/h gusting to 50 this evening with a low of 2C.

EC is saying that Thursday morning, periods of rain changing to periods of ice pellets or freezing rain in the morning and ending late in the afternoon then cloudy. Wind northeast 30 km/h gusting to 50. Temperature falling to -1 in the afternoon.

News Tidbits – Congratulations to Emma Morrison of Chapleau. She is Miss North Ontario 2017, selected from a group of 40 in the 2017 Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant. Emma and her fellow competitors raised $18,000 for Northern Ontario Families of Children with Cancer, which is the official charity of Miss North Ontario. Since 2006, $246,000 has been raised by competitors in the Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant.
