The halls of MHS have been busy the past few weeks! Congratulations to all of our badminton players who took part in the NWOSSAA playdowns last week. They had great results with the girls’ doubles playing off in a three-way tie for first. They came out the winners and are off to Chatham in May for OFSSAA !  Also, our junior girls singles player won first in her division! Great work by all the players and their coaches, Mr. Desgagne and Ms. Fresque. A special thank you to Mr. McGregor and Mrs. Kusic for their assistance in a smooth running tournament.

Soccer practices are now starting, as the weather is warming and the soccer season is fast approaching. As well, track and field is making a comeback. Students will be practicing their skills for this event on our field as well as at the community field, once it dries.
The grade nines will be helping with the community Yellow Fish campaign, distributing flyers, collecting garbage and painting yellow fish by all the storm drains in town. Hopefully, this will take place soon: once the snow melts and the streets are dry once again.
The LEAD team had homemade mac and cheese last week for their luncheon special. The lunch this week will be pulled pork on a bun with salad.
Four of the grade nines headed to the Soo last Friday to take part in the Raise the Bar conference. Thank you to Ms. Mitchell for chaperoning them on this trip. We look forward to the new intramural games they have to teach us.
Wednesday is a busy day with Graduation photos and Parent-Teacher Interviews. Also, we have four grade nine students in Sault Ste. Marie at the Social Change Makers conference.
On Thursday, the Roseneath Theater is presenting a forty-minute play on Consent. Parent-Teacher interviews will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. If you cannot make it and wish to meet with teachers, please call the school 705-856-4464 to make those arrangements with your child’s teachers.
